Friendly Fruit Coffe Cake
3/4 Cup Drained chopped peaches
3/4 Cup Drained chopped pineapple
6 Maraschino cherries
1/2 Package yeast
1 1/2 Cups sugar
in large crock or glass jar. Mix well, let stand loosely
covered in warm palce for 2 weeks. Stir several times
the first day, then once every 24 hours the first week.
Do not stir the second week.
add to mixture above:
2 Cups drained pineapple chunks
1 Cup sugar
and let stand, covered, for 2 more weeks. Then add to above:
2 Cups drained peach slices
1 Cup sugar
and let stand, covered, for 2 more weeks. Then:
Cups fruit (peaches, pears, pineapple, etc.)
to the above every 2 weeks from now until eternity. Be sure
to take out 2 or 3 cups at least every 2 weeks and use or
give it to a friend. After a while you will have no friends!
They will hide when they see you coming. Sneak and put it
on their porch when they're not looking!
Friendly Fruit Coffee Cake:
Cups Friendly Fruit, slightly drained
1 Yellow cake mix (dry)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 Cup real butter, melted
fruit on bottom of 9 X 13 pan. Spread cake mix on top of
fruit. Scatter pecans on top of cake mix. Spread the melted
butter on top and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
