1. Heavily butter a 9 inch square baking dish. Fill the dish with bread slices so the dish is completely covered with bread filled to the top.
2. Mix the eggs, half and half, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour mixture over bread slices. Refridgerate covered overnight.
3. Heat the oven to 350 Degrees.
4. For topping, mix butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir in pecans. Spread topping evenly over bread slices. Bake until puffed and golden, about 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
